Winter Road Trip Checklist: Smart Packing
Generic winter driving checklists tell everyone to pack the same items. But a trip through the Rockies in January needs different preparation than a coastal drive in light rain. The hazards are different, so the checklist should be too.
TripCaptain generates route-specific packing lists based on the actual hazards detected along your route. If black ice is flagged, you get ice scraper, tire chains, and de-icing spray. If heavy snow is detected, you get a snow shovel and extra warm layers. No hazard, no unnecessary items.
The packing engine covers six categories: safety essentials, weather-specific gear, vehicle-specific items, seasonal preparation, trip-length supplies, and family needs (kids and pets).
